Hengevelde is situated in "de Hof van Twente" a wonderful varying area in the south west of "Twente" which has known as the characteristically part of the province Overijssel.
Those who hike out are not looking for the big roads or grand scale touristic amusement, but are looking for the woods, the little back roads and cycling paths to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
The beautiful gardens invite you of course to make a bicycle tour or go on a hike tour for a couple of kilometres. The city centres of the surrounding big city's like Hengelo and Enschede are completely renewed.

You take the highway A1 direction Hengelo / Enschede. On the Highway A1, you take
Exits number 28 (Goor/Haaksbergen).
Follow the signs for Haaksbergen. At the traffic lights you go straight ahead, direction Goor / Hengevelde.
After the bridge, turn right Hengevelde / Haaksbergen N 347.
